The operating agreement
pdfity provides the software. You control the documents, rights, settings, and final output.
- Standard document processing occurs in your browser and pdfity does not keep a server-side document backup.
- You must have the legal right to process every document you use.
- Pro purchases and renewals are handled by Polar as Merchant of Record.
- Outputs must be reviewed before relying on them for legal, financial, archival, accessibility, or compliance purposes.
- Abuse, fraud, security attacks, or attempts to bypass plan limits can result in suspension or termination.
1. Agreement and eligibility
These Terms form an agreement between you and pdfity. If you use pdfity for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization, and references to you include that organization.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If the law where you live requires a higher age or parental authorization for online services or purchases, that rule applies.
2. Accounts
You must use accurate sign-in information, maintain control of your identity provider account, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access.
You may not sell, rent, transfer, or share account access in a way that defeats plan rules. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless caused by a failure of pdfity that you could not reasonably prevent.
3. The service and local processing
pdfity provides browser-based document tools. Standard processing is designed to run locally in your browser without sending document bytes to pdfity servers.
Local processing depends on your device, browser, available memory, file structure, and selected operation. Large, damaged, encrypted, unusual, or standards-sensitive documents may fail or produce results that require review.
pdfity does not keep a server-side copy of your local input or output. You are responsible for keeping source files and downloading, opening, and verifying outputs before closing the workspace.
4. Your documents and instructions
You retain rights in documents and other material you process. These Terms do not transfer document ownership to pdfity.
You confirm that you own the material or have all permissions and lawful grounds needed to process, alter, extract, sign, unlock, sanitize, convert, or distribute it.
You are responsible for settings, page selections, passwords, signatures, redactions, metadata changes, and every decision made in the workspace.
5. Free and Pro plans
Features, entitlements, operation limits, and prices are described on the current pricing page and may change prospectively. A plan change does not retroactively remove a period already paid for except where required for fraud, abuse, chargeback, or a serious Terms violation.
Server-side entitlement checks and daily counters may be used even though document processing remains local. Attempts to alter client code, requests, receipts, or plan state to bypass access controls are prohibited.
6. Purchases, renewal, taxes, and Polar
Polar is the Merchant of Record for supported pdfity purchases. Checkout, payment methods, tax calculation, invoices, and payment processing are handled by Polar and its processors under their buyer terms.
A recurring subscription renews automatically at the displayed interval until canceled. You authorize the Merchant of Record to charge the applicable renewal price, taxes, and fees using the selected payment method.
Price changes apply no earlier than the next renewal after reasonable notice where required. Failed payment may result in a grace period, suspension of Pro, or downgrade to Free.
7. Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel renewal through the billing portal. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and access continues until then unless a refund or account termination ends it earlier.
Refund eligibility is governed by the pdfity Refund Policy and any mandatory consumer law. The Refund Policy is part of these Terms.
8. Third-party services
Google, Microsoft, Apple, Dropbox, Google Drive, Polar, Vercel, and other connected providers are independent services with their own availability, terms, privacy practices, and account controls.
pdfity is not responsible for a third-party outage, account restriction, permission decision, price, or policy. Optional cloud actions begin only when you choose them.
9. Acceptable use
You must not use pdfity for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, deceptive, infringing, or harmful activity, or in a way that violates another person’s privacy, confidentiality, intellectual property, contract, or security rights.
- No malware, malicious documents, credential theft, exploitation, or security testing without written permission
- No unauthorized access, account takeover, scraping, denial of service, or interference with other users
- No bypassing authentication, paywalls, entitlements, operation limits, rate limits, or billing controls
- No use of documents or signatures without the rights and authority required by law
- No resale or white-label redistribution of pdfity unless separately agreed in writing
10. pdfity intellectual property
pdfity and its software, interface, branding, documentation, design system, and service content are protected by intellectual property law. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by pdfity.
Subject to these Terms, pdfity grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for personal or internal business document work.
Feedback may be used to improve pdfity without payment or restriction, provided it does not include confidential document content.
11. Output review and professional use
pdfity is a document tool, not legal, tax, accounting, medical, archival, certification, or compliance advice.
You must open and review every output. For regulated, evidentiary, accessibility, long-term archival, digital signature, PDF/A, PDF/UA, print production, or court filing use, you must independently validate the output with the required authority or conformance tool.
A label, preview, local check, or successful download does not by itself certify compliance with a law, filing rule, archival standard, accessibility standard, or professional obligation.
12. Service changes and availability
pdfity may add, modify, limit, suspend, or discontinue features to improve security, performance, compliance, or product viability. We will use reasonable efforts to avoid unnecessary disruption to paid users.
The service is provided on an available basis. Maintenance, browser limits, provider outages, security events, or circumstances outside reasonable control can interrupt access.
13. Suspension and termination
pdfity may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, fraud, chargebacks, security risk, legal demands, material breach, or harm to the service or others.
We may terminate an account for a material or repeated breach. Where appropriate, we will give notice and a reasonable opportunity to cure. Immediate action may be taken for fraud, security attacks, unlawful conduct, or urgent risk.
You may stop using pdfity and delete your account. Active subscriptions must be canceled as part of account closure. Provisions that by nature should survive, including payment obligations, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute-related terms, remain effective.
14. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, pdfity is provided without warranties of uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, non-infringement, or guaranteed preservation of formatting, metadata, signatures, accessibility, or standards conformance.
Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.
15. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, pdfity is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, business, goodwill, opportunities, or data.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, pdfity’s total liability arising from the service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for pdfity during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or EUR 100.
These limits do not apply where liability cannot legally be limited, including liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or other mandatory categories.
16. Indemnity for organizational and unlawful use
If you use pdfity for an organization, you will defend and indemnify pdfity against third-party claims caused by your unlawful documents, lack of required rights, misuse, or material breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
This obligation does not cover claims caused by pdfity’s own breach, negligence, or unlawful conduct.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms for product, security, provider, legal, or company changes. Material changes will be posted with a revised date and communicated where required.
Changes apply prospectively. Continued use after the effective date means acceptance where permitted by law. If you do not agree, you must stop using the service and cancel renewal.
18. General terms
If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remainder will continue. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without pdfity’s consent, but pdfity may assign them as part of a company formation, financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of the service.
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Refund Policy, and current purchase terms form the entire agreement about the service, except for a separate written agreement signed by pdfity.
